You are not just a face in the crowd. God knows you personally, individually, and by name. That truth runs throughout Nehemiah 11 and 12, where over 150 individual names are recorded as a reminder that God redeems people one by one, not as a nameless group. Those names point to something even greater: the Book of Life, where the name of every person who places their faith in Jesus Christ is written for eternity. God does not save you and leave you on the sidelines. He invites you into what He is doing in the world, right where you are, with the gifts and the life He has given you. Your response to Him matters, and it always has.
