Counter Cultural: The Anticipated Reunion (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Ryan Johnson)

The return of Jesus Christ is not a distant theological concept but a living hope that changes everything about how we face loss, hardship, and uncertainty. Drawing from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Paul addresses believers who were grieving the deaths of fellow Christians and reassures them that death for a believer is not the end. It is a waiting period before a glorious reunion. Because Jesus died and rose again, those who belong to Him will also rise. Christ will descend from heaven with a commanding shout, the voice of an archangel, and the trumpet of God, and every member of His family, both the living and the dead, will be gathered to meet Him. This is a hope worth sharing, especially with those who are grieving or who have never heard the Gospel.
