Cornerstone Community Bible Church was founded in 2001 with a handful of families, dedicated to the vision of “changing lives through the truth of God’s Word and the love of God’s people” in the Richmond/Rosenberg/Sugar Land area. These families began meeting for worship in the First Colony AMC Theatre, and as the years went by, the church grew, acquired office space, and added several staff members. In 2007, the Lord blessed the Cornerstone family with a beautiful piece of property — twenty-two acres of a former golf course located on FM 762 in Rosenberg. In the Fall of 2010, this location became their permanent home with the completion of their first building. Since that time, the church has expanded its community and global outreach through various ministries and missionaries.
Dr. Brent Burckart is our founding pastor and in 2022 became the District Supervisor of the EFCA TX-OK District, stepping down from his role as Sr. Pastor at Cornerstone. Throughout its history, the church has been privileged to see many “lives changed through the truth of God’s Word and the love of God’s people,” and as we reflect on His goodness to us as a congregation, we can only echo the words of Psalm 118:23.
“This is the LORD’S doing; It is marvelous in our eyes.”
